From Pictish Kingdom to Scottish Earldom: A cultural geography of Atholl and Gowrie

Dr Mark A Hall will share with us his reflections and confusions in trying to assess what the Pictish kingdoms of Atholl and Gowrie looked like on the ground, principally through an examination of the surviving groups of Pictish sculpture and their locations and also of finds of portable antiquities.

Walk: Evanton Woods ...

Walk: Evanton Woods

Organised by Dingwall Field Club. Non-members welcome for £2 contribution. Meeting place No. 1 Car Park Dingwall, unless previously agreed with Walk Leaders. Walk Leader for this walk is Edna Souden 01349 830325. Good paths, but some tree roots. Take stick. Approx. 2 miles.

Come prepared and equipped for bad weather and some rough walking.

Please bring a Packed Lunch on Saturday Outings.

Members and guests are asked to follow the leader's instructions. Please stay with the group unless otherwise agreed with the leader.

Any children under 16 must be accompanied by, and under control of, an adult who accepts full responsibility for them and cannot be the  Walk Leader. In the interests of your own safety and that of others, exercise care at all times.

Leaders may, at their discretion, alter or cancel outings (eg bad weather).  Contact the walk leader for anything about outings if you need more information.

No Dogs allowed on any of the Club Outings.

Annual membership of Dingwall Field Club is only £15 per person, or £25 for a couple.  There is normally a charge of £2 per outing for non members.
